Ola man charged with Stolen Vehicle

Sheriff Kenny Cassell states that on February 18, 2019, deputies with the Searcy County Sheriff's Department observed a vehicle driven by Michael Shane McManus (age 43 years) of Ola, Arkansas, commit a traffic violation on Hwy. 65 near Leslie.
After conducting a traffic stop on the vehicle, a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu, contact was made with the driver, McManus. After running the vehicle through ACIC, it was confirmed that the vehicle had been stolen from Conway, Arkansas.
During the investigation and inventory of the vehicle, it was determined that McManus had a suspended drivers license, and was in possession of felony drug paraphernalia. Michael McManus was placed in custody and transported to the Searcy County Detention Center for booking.
Michael Shane McManus has been charged with:
Theft by Receiving, a Class C Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Class D Felony
Driving on a Suspended Drivers License, a Misdemeanor
His bond was set at $7,500. McManus is scheduled to appear in the Searcy County Circuit Court on March 8, 2019.
