On Friday, February 7, 2025, an individual reported that he was inside his residence preparing personal paperwork as he waited on a PEST CONTROL service to arrive at his residence. According to the complainant, the employee for the company arrived at approximately 10:00AM as scheduled.
The complainant/victim stated that after the employee with the pest control service finished at the residence, he realized his wallet was not in the residence as always. After locating the wallet outside, he stated the wallet was empty of cash, approximately $475.00. The pest control employee was not on the premises at this time.
On March the 10th, 2025, Xander Reed, 20, of Batesville, Arkansas and person of interest, arrived at the Searcy County Sheriff's Office for an interview as requested. In a Post Miranda interview, Reed, who was no longer an employee of the pest control service, confessed to Chief Deputy Ezra D. Pierce and Investigator Justin Flint, that he had in fact stolen cash money from the wallet belonging to the victim and used it for day-to-day expenses.
Reed was arrested for THEFT of PROPERTY. He has a May 13, 2025, court date in Searcy County District Court.
