On March 16th, 2024, Deputy Caleb Horn with the Searcy County Sheriff's Office was stationary in Leslie Arkansas, when he observed a red Nissan pathfinder committing a traffic violation.  After conducting a traffic stop and approaching the driver, 40-year-old Antonio Tiul, it was determined he had no driver's license, or other paperwork that would confirm he was in the United States legally.

Further investigation revealed that Tiul was an illegal alien from Guatemala and had been deported from the United States numerous times in the past.  Tiul was transported to the Searcy County Sheriff's Office for booking, and processing. During this process, contact was made with Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) who placed an Immigration Detainer on Tiul, in order to deport him back to Guatemala.

Tiul currently awaits transport to a federal holding facility for deportation.
