Traffic Stop near Martin Box leads to Arrests

According to Sheriff Kenny Cassell, on February 8, 2019, deputies with his agency observed a vehicle driving erratically on Hwy. 27 near the Martin Box community. 

After conducting a traffic stop on the vehicle, two individuals (Kassey Marie Armand and Brian Christopher Armand of Louisiana) were contacted.  Kassey Armand was the driver.  When deputies approached the vehicle,  it was determined that no one had a valid driver's license. 

Evidence of narcotics were detected by the deputies, which resulted in a search of the vehicle.  During the search, an undisclosed amount of illegal narcotics, alcohol, drug paraphernalia used to ingest methamphetamine, and a handgun  were located.

Both subjects were transported to the Searcy County Detention Center for booking and detention.  Once inside the detention center, it was discovered that Brian Armand possessed drug paraphernalia inside his boot.

 Kassey Armand is charged with Possession of a Schedule VI narcotic and having an open container.  Brian Armand is charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Furnishing, possessing or using prohibited articles.

Court dates and bond amounts have yet to be issued.
